Since there’s a compelling post at the top of the rec list on a space theme, maybe I can get a few eyes and ears on a science fiction podcast I’m hosting. It’s my personal adaptation of Isaac Asimov’s classic, Foundation, and it’s kind of a BFD for me. I discovered it as a teenager, and just recently re-read it in its entirety — all seven volumes. Since I couldn’t let go of it, I went with my gut and decided to make it into a podcast. There are two episodes out already, covering the first two of the five chapters in the first novel, entitled Foundation. The plan is to make each novel into a “season” which will likely stick to the five episode format, with some special episodes where I bring in a guest to discuss some of the implications for our times and other topics of interest. I hope I can interest a few folks here in giving it a listen. The website for the project is at https://seldoncrisis.transistor.fm.
Here’s a pretty cool video trailer my son produced for Season 1:
BTW — the third episode is coming out this Friday and I think it’s going to be really good. It’s on an awesome story called The Mayors, and I had a great time making it. Please check it out!
